• A Legacy Since 1832

Founded in 1832 by David Fussenegger in Dornbirn, Austria, the company quickly became a leading regional employer, specializing in cotton and cotton-blended yarns. Innovation marked its early years, from mechanical looms powered by a water wheel in the 1860s to resilient production methods following a devastating fire in 1945, which nearly halted operations.

While leadership remained within the family for seven generations, the company continued to evolve with strategic investments, including a new weaving mill in 1966 and a high-rack warehouse in 1985. In 2011, two long-standing employees assumed ownership, carrying forward the company’s tradition of craftsmanship and innovation.

In 2014, David Fussenegger Textiles moved to new, state-of-the-art facilities in Altach, equipped with modern Jacquard and weaving technologies. Today, the team continues the nearly 200-year-old mission: creating beautiful and sustainable textiles to homes everywhere.

  • Production

At the heart of every creation is cotton—crafted into blankets, pillows, and textile accessories with care, precision, and the latest weaving technology. Our products are refined through multiple stages, from design and sampling to weaving, brushing, and hand-finishing, ensuring flawless quality.

    Sustainability

Sustainability is central to our philosophy. Nearly all products are made using GRS-certified recycled yarns (from fashion industry scraps), while our organic cotton line is GOTS-certified, guaranteeing environmentally and socially responsible production. All items meet the Ökotex Standard 100, ensuring they are free from harmful substances.

By combining modern technology, skilled craftsmanship, and sustainable materials, we create high-quality products that are not only beautiful and cozy but also designed to be loved and used daily—helping to turn a house into a unique, welcoming home while caring for the planet.

  • Care

In order for you to enjoy David Fussenegger textiles, we recommend reading the care instructions provided on the label.

Here are a few additional hints for even better washing results:

Temperature - Cold water works best! Today’s detergents make your laundry perfectly clean even at low temperatures.

Washing Cycle - The gentler, the better! We recommend using your washing machine's gentle/delicate cycle. A shorter spin time with low speed will prevent wear and tear.

Detergent: Detergents designed for wool products work best, although with proper use, standard detergents will not harm your textiles.

Drying: For best results, air dry your item first, then fluff on a "no heat" or "lowest heat" drying cycle for under 10 minutes.  There may be some slight shrinkage (1” or less) the first time you launder your textile.
